I just realized I hadn't put halloween picture up so here they are!
We went to a pumpkin patch farm thing. Luke is hitching a ride with the pumpkins!

Temple, boys, boys, boys

I watch Lael (my sister's daughter) about once a week and Peyton and her are about 5 months apart - they have gotten pretty close!

We took the kids to the temple that Stephen and I were sealed in - Columbia River Temple in Tricities. We took some really nice pictures!

Since living closer to my dad who has a motorcycle, we've been able to borrow his bike some and Stephen got his motorcycle license. It's been a lot of fun pretending like we have a bike when we get to borrow it!

We had to get a new license plate for the car Stephen drives and the old one was on there pretty good! This is the old one and bolts and screws after we finally got it off! Still pretty annoyed that we had to pay and get new ones when there wasn't anything wrong with the old ones!

Birthday, Seattle, Snow, and more

Stephen had a birthday on November 10th - he lighted and carried his cake and sang to himself. At least he didn't make his own cake! We made a monster boy cake - that's what Peyton wanted us to make =)

We got our first snowfall - not much but enough to go outside and play. Peyton loved it! Especially throwing snowballs and eating the snow whether it was clean or not.

Stephen and I had been looking for a computer desk for a while now and hadn't been able to find one we liked and could afford so we decided to make one. It turned out almost how I envisioned it but not everything worked out as planned but we are very happy with the results! It took a lot of time to complete but we enjoyed getting to work together a lot and using new tools that we borrowed.

While we were in Seattle we went to the zoo. These monkey's were "posing" for the cameras - funny!

Peyton gets really excited about being able to touch the starfish but then he won't actually do it.

This is the underside of our desk. This part is what didn't quite work out right but the legs still come off easily so we will be able to move it.

My sick boys. Luke fell asleep on the floor and Peyton was watching Cars 2. Luke has been sick quite a bit with mostly a cold and just been whiney and this day Peyton wasn't feeling good either.

Peyton is in love with Cars 2 and watches it every day. When I first saw it, I didn't really like it much but after seeing it a dozen times, it's grown on me =)

The boys are doing great! Luke doesn't say many words but usually we can figure out what he wants. Just in time for Halloween, he had 2 vampire teeth with no front teeth - I wished I had gotten a picture of it! Now he's got the front teeth poking through so he's got 6 teeth now. Peyton is still saying funny or suprising things that I don't know where he gets it. Like today he told me bones have bone marrow inside of them - where did he learn that!?!! We really enjoy his age and how much he learns and talks and even the why questions. Luke wants to do everything Peyton is doing and Peyton is getting better at playing with him and actually is starting to want to play with him!

Work is going fine for Stephen, pretty much the same stuff there. Pretty much the same with me too. I got a calling in church teaching Relief Society - I don't really enjoy the teaching part so much but I enjoy preparing to teach because I learn so much from it. We are still adjusting some to living here but overall enjoy it!

Last 6 months UPDATE

So I haven't been able to get Blogger to work for many many months and finally have! So a quick update - pretty much, the boys have gotten bigger (and each had a birthday), Stephen graduated from BYU with his Masters in Educational Leadership and accepted a job in Toppenish, WA so we moved to Moxee, WA. And that's about it! ha ha!

We've just been in Washington for about a month and a half and we LOVE our new place. It's a duplex that is just a couple years old and has a garage - I love parking my car in it and having it nice and cool and it stays clean! We live across from a elementary school and park so it's fun for the boys. We go on lots of bike rides and walks too in our tiny little town. It's been quite an adjustment for me but the boys have adjusted very well. It was hard to leave my great friends in Utah and all the conviences of where we lived but we are making friends here and there actually are more young families with stay-at-home moms here in our church ward than were we just left in Utah!

Stephen's job is going well - he is teaching the lower level math classes at Toppenish High School and it's challenging but I think he enjoys a challenge for the most part. I'm really enoying being close to my sister and Peyton and Luke being able to play with his cousins. We also are really enjoying being close to my dad and Debbie. We haven't seen Stephen's parents yet but in the next few weeks we will!

Peyton turned 3 in April and Luke 1 in August. Peyton is now potty-trained and it's wonderful but sometimes would be easier if he were still in diapers (like when we are places where bathrooms aren't around or close). He talks lots and lots and is starting to have quite the imagination. He loves riding his bike, playing with cars, helping me in the kitchen, coloring or playing with playdough and playing hide-n-seek. He's been starting to say his own prayers and add his own words/phrases and thats really cute and makes me tear up when he does! Luke and Peyton don't always get along well; I feel like a referee most days all day! Luke doesn't understand sharing and Peyton doesn't want to share - Luke loves his big brother and wants to be doing whatever Peyton is. So it's a challenge but they are also starting to be able to play more together too and it's cute and fun. They especially are liking playing chase and wrestling (Peyton can sometimes be too rough though).

Luke is walking and running now - and tries to jump and it's so cute! He knows the meaning of lots of words and phrases but really only says kitty and doggy. He shakes his head yes and no - it's so nice having him be able to communicate some! He really LOVES animals and cars. He seems more advanced than Peyton was at that age and it's probably because he has a big brother to learn from and time goes by faster so it seems he's growing up faster than Peyton did!! Luke is pretty cuddly and it's fun because Peyton isn't so much but sometimes it can be annoying because he is clingy.

We are doing really well and miss our family and friends in Utah but look forward to visits down there and new adventures, friends and memories with family up here in Washington!

For our 5 year anniversary, we decided to go Skydiving! It was the most awesome and indescribable (sp?) experience and I am so happy we got to share it together. I want to get my license now but with little kids it wouldn't be practical and it's expensive but we'd both love to go again!

Luke LOVES animals! This is him with Stephen's parents dog - he's so good to let the kids "play" with him. Pretty much the only two words he knows how to say are kitty and doggy.

Peyton turned 3 in April! We made him a spiderman cake. He got some great toys including a Harley motorcycle toy and dart guns!

At my moms, their tub has jets and so we like to put bubbles in and turn on the jets and make tons and tons of bubbles - we almost lost Peyton in them!!!

We have a skate park across from our house and one day when no one was there we were sliding down the ramp on our bums and Peyton fell trying to go up it and cut his tongue pretty bad. It bled a lot and his nose was bleeding but he was fine - it was so sad though!

Peyton with his bug catcher thing - so far we've only caught grasshoppers. He wants more things but won't catch them himself and I won't either so one day with dad he'll have to catch some better bugs!

Peyton wanted to hold Luke like this. They are so funny sometimes! Peyton is such a good big brother although now that Luke is rolling all over the place and can get to Peyton's toys, Peyton sometimes isn't very good at sharing his toys with Luke but it's not bad. They are now in the same room and occassionally I wake up to they both laughing. Peyton likes to try to make Luke laugh and you can tell Luke just wants to be able to do what Peyton is doing. Luke LOVES the bath - he just splashes and splashes. He is also getting up on his knees so I think crawling might not be too far in the future. Luke is the funniest little baby to me - makes me laugh alot! And Peyton is pretty cute himself; he continues to learn more and more and I love hearing the way he says words or the things he says!

Luke 6 MONTHS already!?!?!

Luke turned 6 months on Feb. 1st - can't believe it!! Someone mentioned how their one and only kid was growing up too fast and I told her that the 2nd grows even faster! He is doing great - such a happy smiley boy! Rolls all around and loves to play with anything he can get his hands on! Absolutely LOVES the bath - just splashes in the water! Here's his 6 months stats:
Weight - 15 lbs 6 oz (9th percentile)
Height - 26 inches (33rd percentile)
Head circum. - 16 1/2 inches (8 percentile)
Small all around but seems huge to me! No teeth yet but he seems like he might be teething (but then again, I seem to always think my kids are teething).
I tried feeding him baby food a month ago and he didn't like it and I was worried because I didn't know what to do with a baby who didn't like food but tried again this past week and he loves it now! Amazing what a month can do! It's so funny to feed him because I can't feed him fast enough! The only thing is he still spits up and some baby food is really hard to get out of clothes and carpet and since he rolls around so much, spit up gets everywhere. Peyton never rolled as much as Luke does so it's a new challenge but I love how much he rolls around and it makes him so happy!

Our happenings so far 2011

We are doing pretty well - it's actually been pretty rough since Christmas break. Peyton, Luke and Stephen have had colds for the past 2 weeks. Neither of the boys have been sleeping well. I get up many nights 3-5 times with the boys. Stephen is going to school full time this semester on top of working full time teaching and coaching! So Tuesday through Friday, Stephen is gone from before the boys wake up until after they go to bed - I feel like a single mom during the week! Peyton has really had a hard time with Stephen being gone so much and I think he's just going through a rough stage. He's been aggressive at the gym daycare, nursery and with his friends. He's been throwing awful fits again; not taking naps and taking 1 1/2 to 2 hours to go to sleep at night! We have been trying to potty train Peyton a little and he is doing AWESOME but still has a ways to go. He can count to ten, loves stickers and painting. He's such a big helper and very independent! Overall things are going well for us. Stephen will be done with his Master's this summer and who knows what will happen after then. We might stay here another year or maybe we'll move somewhere else in Utah or Washington! Another adventure begins!!

My brother Derek and his family have moved to Minnesota but before they moved we got together one last time (they lived only 20 minutes away). We are going to miss them so much but glad they are moving on! Their oldest and ours are 3 weeks apart and second kids are about 2 1/2 months apart. They have both girls (Sophie and Ava) and we have both boys! It will be fun to see if our next ones come together too!

Luke at his desk on his laptop -he is so cute and has the sweetest smile! After an attempt to feed Luke some rice cereal which he hates! I have decided he isn't ready for it which is fine but it's fun to try and he is so interested in what we eat so then I think he's ready but apparently not!

This video shows why I think he doesn't like rice cereal! We've tried baby food too and same thing. So we'll just try again in a month or so when he's 6 months which is when you usually start babies on solids - we started Peyton at 4 months because of his bad acid reflux and he loved it!

Luke is rolling all around and is starting to "talk" a lot at times! He is very alert and curious and grabs anything in his reach - Peyton tries to play with Luke and it's fun because Luke laughs. Luke sleeps most nights 10 or 11 hours straight but isn't the greatest napper unless I take a nap with him in my bed. But I've decided I would rather have him sleep great at night and maybe not take long naps than nap great but sleep not very good!

Peyton has had a little bit of a hard time adjusting to Stephen going back to work and school after such a long break with his daddy - he's been aggressive and even bit a girl at the daycare at the gym (she pushed or hit him first so it wasn't completely out of the blue but still not okay). But he's been way better the last couple days so hopefully that's over with! I had my first experience with losing a kid in a store the other day for about 5 minutes! But on the other hand, Peyton has just exploded with his language these past few weeks - he is talking so much better and more and it is so much fun to hear what new things he learns and picks up on and comes up with! He's been a great helper around the house and has gone poop in the toliet 2 times! We are sort of potty-training him - just when I feel like putting him in undies - he's had lots of wetting his undies but lots of success going in the potty too! I love watching my two boys grow and develop and learn - it is one of the greatest things about being a mother I think - it's amazing to watch them!

We had a family home evening about saying nice words and Peyton and Cohen went fishing and on the fish were nice words that they had to say -it was cute and they had a good time!

I just really like this picture of my dad with Peyton and Cohen. I do have to say that Cohen would be the cutest kid in the world if I didn't have kids - he is so cute and has the best facial expressions ever!

While at my dad's we went to a Elk farm and they have a little museum type building with stuffed animals so here's a picture in front of some of the animals. My little nephew, Cohen, freaked out about touching a animal skin.

Debbie got Luke and Peyton a couple matching outfits which I never had thought of getting but I love them! So cute!

I almost think the highlight of my trip was getting to go to my grandma's house for the Iverson Christmas get-together! I don't get to see my dad's side of the family nearly as much as I used to growing up and I miss it A LOT!

I love this picture because it has my grandma's sweet happy smile and has Christmas trees, which I love, and the beautiful painting my sister-in-law did with my late grandpa on the tractor with his grandson! Love it!

One of my favorite things about Iverson Christmas parties is the basket exchange - whoever want to participates brings a basket of gifts and then they are exchanged and it's so fun to see what is in each basket (they usually are themed).

Our little family Christmas morning! I love Christmas now with kids! Stephen's brother's girls were there and so between our boys, them, and Stephen's little brother, we had a lot of excitment that morning and it was so fun watching them all open gifts!

Angelynna, Luke, Peyton, Keiley - Angelynna really enjoyed Luke and it was fun to watch her want to hold him and help!

Peyton LOVED playing with Stephen's little brother, Korey's Nerf guns! It was fun but I am not quite ready for Peyton to have play guns in the house shooting them off everywhere at everything and everyone.

Early Christmas

We are going to Washington for Christmas and wouldn't have room for most of our gifts for Peyton's or the gifts my mom gave us so Santa came to our home last night for a mini-Christmas and we opened gifts this morning.

This is Peyton helping put together the wagon my mom and Jeff gave him and Luke. Peyton in the wagon with his stuffed animals and cereal and milk- he loved the wagon!

Unwrapping presents- he'd open one and then not want to open another, then we'd talk him into opening one again and then he would love that one and not want to open another = )

Santa didn't fill our stockings, just brought Peyton a bike which he loved also!

It was so much fun having Peyton open presents - he doesn't really get Christmas still and so I think I was more excited for him to open presents than he was!

Luke at 4 months - he is a happy and active baby! More active than Peyton at this age so that could be scary!

We decided to try Luke in the jumpy chair - at first he wasn't sure what to do but very quickly figured it out. I wish you could see his face better because he was so happy to be jumping! Peyton thought it was pretty funny too and wanted to help Luke jump - I absolutely love watching my two boys together - Peyton is so good with Luke and tries to show Luke his toys. When Luke cries, Peyton tells him that it's okay.

Oh, and Luke had his 4 month check-up so here's his stats:

13lbs 10 oz - 19th percentile

25 inches long - 47 percentile

15 3/4 inche head circumference - 4th percentile

Luke on his tummy - he's getting real good at holding his head up and LOVES reaching and grabbing anything he can!! Rolling over ... again... if you don't remember he rolled over consistently before 3 weeks old for about a week and then stopped. Tonight he rolled over 3 times from tummy to back. We'll see what happens.

I think Luke thinks Peyton is slightly crazy by the way Luke's eyes get really wide watching Peyton play sometimes!! I tell Luke that Peyton's gonna teach him lots of stuff (whether mom likes it or not)!!

Our little baby boy is 3 months! He is so cute and a great, content baby! He has consistently been sleeping 6 hours straight this past week although I am sure that will continue to be up and down but even when he doesn't sleep through the night, he wakes up once and goes right back to sleep! Love it! He is a really happy baby and is making lots of cute noises and smiling a lot! Peyton sure has taken a liking to Luke lately. Before he just ignored Luke but the last few days, Peyton is very interactive with Luke - it's cute (and a little annoying!). Peyton likes to undo the buttons on Luke's clothes and the other day, Peyton actually moved Luke from the bouncy chair to the play mat while I was cleaning the bathroom - Luke didn't seem to mind (but looks like I gotta watch them a little more closely since Peyton wants to be such a helper!)

Luke:

- loves to be up on our shoulders looking around

- he likes sleeping on his side and still is swaddled at night

- he likes to be held like he is nursing and burrow into my side/arm to sleep

- he passes the worst smelling gas ever!

- he has had 2 hair cuts

- still spits up (but not as much as Peyton did)

- he really likes baths and kicks water out of the sink

It is a ton of fun watching both my little boys grow and to see how they are alike and different and how they interact! Love all 3 of my boys!!

This year Halloween was a lot more exciting because Peyton actually kind of got it! Stephen had a volleyball tournament he was in charge of and it went a lot later than planned and so I took the kids trick-or-treating by myself for a bit before he got home. I was a little bummed because Stephen and I were going to get dressed up to take them but we didn't end up having time. We still had a good time though and Peyton kept asking "go more houses"! It was very fun to take him! Holidays have become a lot more fun again now that I have kids. I think Halloween might be becoming one of my favorite holidays! Peyton had a hard time keeping his dog hood on because it kept falling into his face making it hard to see but we made him put it on at doors and for pictures =)

For Fall Break, we took a trip to Stephen's sister's house just outside of San Francisco. We had wanted to go and see her and her family for a quite some time now but always took holidays to see our parents in Washington. We thought this was a good time to go! They have a 3 1/2 year old boy, Jordan, and a 1 1/2 year old girl, Kelsey. Peyton and Jordan played great for about the 1st 2 days but then got a little tired of each other =) Peyton LOVED all of Jordan's awesome fun toys!

The view by Jennifer and Justin's house. It's really pretty there and they live in such a nice little community! The weather was great and we had such a good time! The adults played games one night after the kids went to bed and that was a blast! It was the most time Stephen had spent with his sister, brother-in-law and their kids since he had been home from his mission - it was very much needed!

We went into San Francisco one day and drove around and of course had to go over the Golden Gate Bridge!

It is about 12 hours each way from here to there and both boys did FANTASTIC! Each way, we stopped once at McDonalds so Peyton could play on toys and then we stopped only an additional once or twice for gas. I cannot believe how great my kids do in the car. Of course, we go prepared with toys and lots of snacks! We are so happy we went and thank Justin and Jennifer a million for everything!!

Utah State Fair 2010

We went to the Utah State fair in September with the boys - it was fun to just get out and walk around and look at things.

There were tractors at the fair and Peyton loved playing on and in them!

He loves anything with wheels including this golf cart!

He's so little and cute!

They had this little farming/agriculture experience where the kids go through and collect stuff from animals and veggies from a play garden and then they "sell" it at the end and get play money with which they can "buy" a small treat. It's really a cute idea!

Peyton watching tv and Luke in the new playmat that I bought for him with money sent to us to spend on him! I love it and Luke likes it fine but I think Peyton and I like it more than Luke =)

I have been working on painting letters for Luke's name to put on the wall in the boys room and the other day I let Peyton paint some little letters of his own - as you can see, he made quite the mess but he had such a fun time!

One of Luke's first smiles - he is so cute and smiles quite a bit and with his eyes too! This was taken 9-23-2010; so he was about 1 month 3 weeks.

Luke loves to burrow in between my arm and body and then when he sleeps in bed with me at naptime, he likes the covers actually over him completely! He's a funny kid. I remember Peyton liked to burrow too but Luke moreso.

We took family pictures in our "Pyeatt" shirts; except we don't have one for Luke because 1) he wasn't born or even concieved when my dad gave us these and 2) they don't make shirts small enough for him anyway. This picture didn't turn out quite how we planned but it's still a little bit fun!

Peyton woke up from his nap and came out in some underwear which I though was funny because he had put them on all wrong but then I realized he put them on because he had pooped in his diaper and took it off and then put underwear on. There was pooped on the floor, couch, and bed in his room - gross!! Luckily it wasn't too bad and still cute that he tried to clean up himself!

Stephen and I made this board to measure and mark our kids as they grow. Stephen got this design off the internet and then used his projector at school to trace it onto the board and then we painted it. It isn't quite finished but who knows when we will actually complete it now. We are also stuck on how to do the numbers since neither of us are confident that we could write or paint the numbers well! But we are proud of our measuring board!

Luke's Baby Blessing Outfit

This blessing outfit was made out of a white dress shirt of my grandpa's who passed away September 2009. On the shirt pocket were his initials and Debbie put them on the inside of the back of the blessing outfit (Ronald Delano Iverson).

My step-mom made this outfit and she did a fabulous job! I LOVE it and it is so special - I just cried when I got it in the mail! Thank you Debbie for the effort and time you put into this blessing outfit!

Debbie made a storage bag for the outfit out of a pillowcase - I thought that was very creative and neat.

We will probably be blessing Luke in Church September 26th but we aren't for sure yet.

These pictures were taken in the hospital right before I was induced. Stephen also took a picture of the "after" right before we left the hospital to go home with Luke but one of the benefits of being the main blogger, I don't have to post the picture and so I am not going to because I don't like it and I pretty much look similar to before I was pregnant! It still is amazing to think that just a few weeks ago little Luke was in my tummy - it truly is a MIRACLE and it blows my mind that we GET to CREATE life!

Peyton "Big Brother" Pyeatt

Peyton is doing AMAZING with the adjustment to Luke! Really, nothing has changed and if anything, he might even be better! The first 2 weeks Stephen was home and/or my mom was here so he got plenty of attention but the times when it is just him, me and Luke, Peyton doesn't seem to be bothered by the time that Luke takes. Of course I try not to always put Luke first but he does have to eat a lot and just likes to be held. Most the time at first, Peyton just ignored Luke but he now is more aware of Luke and asks where he's at. Peyton tries to help put Luke's binkie in when he is crying but at first Peyton would try once but because Luke would be crying and moving his arms all around, Peyton would just set it by Luke and run away -I think he was a little scared of Luke crying and moving so wildly! It was pretty funny!

Peyton is so so cute with Luke and so soft and gentle. He likes to kiss Luke and name his body parts. Peyton was concerned about Luke's umbilical cord and would always want to see it and call it an owie (I don't know how to spell the word) and make a sad face. The first couple days, Peyton would take Luke's binkie and run away with it in his mouth! I think Peyton really likes his little brother and I am so happy about it and excited for when Luke interacts more!

Luke Kevin Pyeatt

Luke is doing awesome! Pretty much since he was born, he sleeps about 4 hours at a time during the night (and one night even 7 hours straight)! I have also been able to get Luke and Peyton to nap at the same time so then I usually get a nap too! So I am not exhausted like most moms with newborns are! Luke does spit up quite a bit but I don't think it's as much as Peyton did so hopefully it won't be as bad (crossing my fingers). Luke also sleeps by himself which Peyton liked to be held all the time even to sleep.

The first week, my hormones and emotions were all over the place but now the adjustment so far has been really good and I am enjoying being a mom to 2 and watching Luke grow and Peyton being an awesome big brother! I have even ventured out several times by myself with both kids which I thought would take months to do!

Luke's stats from his 2 week appointment are:
weight - 7 lbs 14 oz - 24 percentile
height -20 3/4 inches -52 percentile
head circumference - 14 1/4 inches - 32 percentile

Here Luke is 15 days old. He is very active when he's down on the floor and actually rolled from tummy to back a few days after this picture (17 days)!!

18 days-I took these pictures after I gave him a bath. Since his umbilical cord has fallen off, I have given him "real" bathes and he enjoys these a lot better than the sponge bathes which makes it fun!

He is so cute and I can't believe how fast these past 2 1/2 weeks have gone by and it makes me sad that already he is getting bigger and older. With Peyton I was so nervous and scared and worried being a new mom that I didn't enjoy Peyton as much as I enjoy Luke and that makes me sad. But having Luke has made me love Peyton more and that makes me happy!

OUR NEW BABY!!!

We now have had boy number 2!!!! He was born at 11:23am in Provo, UT and he was 7lbs. 15oz. and is 19.5 inches long!! He is doing very well and so is Terren! Here are a few of the quick details: we arrived at the hospital to be induced and she delivered him 4 hours later; she only had to push for 10 minutes; and no stitches!

We were woken up at 5:30am by the call from the nurses to come on in to be induced so it wasn't ideal (7:30am would have been better). So we got ready and took Peyton up to Derek & Kelly's place for the morning and heading back down to the hospital, getting there at about 7:15am. She was 4cm dialated and 70% effaced. They got her on Pitocin within an hour and that helped her get to 5cm. However the baby didn't seem to like it because his heart rate started to slowly drop, so they took her off of it within an hour. When they took her off, Dr. McLay came in and broke her water. Then the chaos ensued.

When they broke her water they went in and put a monitor on the baby's head so they could keep better track of the baby's heart rate. Then the baby's heart rate went down over the next hour. And down. And down. His original baseline was 136 beats per minute, and he had gone down around 60! They were very concerned. They went back in to see if they could feel if the cord was wrapped around or squished but they couldn't tell. They did know that she was 6cm though, and the time was 10:35am. So they decided they needed to stay and keep an eye on the monitors.

We had our nurse, Nicki (which was amazing!!!); our doctor, Dr. McLay; a resident doctor from University of Arizona; and others coming in and out to help prepare for anything. They got very concerned and decided to start the paperwork for having a C-Section because they couldn't tell if the baby would hold up. Dr. McLay preferred not to and wanted to wait it out, and we definitely didn't want to do a C-Section if we didn't have to (but willing if the baby needs it). So the heart rate started to go up a little bit in to the 110's and things were looking good. Until Dr. McLay checked again on the baby at 10:56am. Terren was 8cm, but the heart rate went down again really quickly. He decided he needed to call another doctor that he had on call to come in and get a second opinion before he went any further. So we watched and waited and signed papers to do a C-Section.

When the other doctor arrived and went over the history, vitals, and spoke with Dr. McLay in our room, he decided he would check her. It was 11:12am. Terren was now 10cm and ready to go (she went from a 6 to a 10 in 40 minutes!). So they decided to deliver now, vaginally. We hopped into action and were pushing within seconds, while Dr. McLay was feverishly getting his stuff set up for the delivery since he can't set up ahead of time. Terren did such an amazing job pushing and giving it all she had!! And so within 10 minutes Terren had the baby out!

We had talked last night about cutting the cord and how I like doing it and wanted to do it again so I was now excited to cut the cord! However Dr. McLay then said as soon as the baby was out and he was hurriedly wiping the baby, "I am going to hurry and cut the cord to speed things up." Since the baby had shown trauma through the labor and delivery, we had two people from the NICU there to check our boy and see what was wrong and take care of it immediately. I was bummed, but I was definitely OK with it due to the situation.

He still had quite a bit of liquid in his lungs so it took a few minutes before we heard him cry. But he is so cute and I am so happy that we got to do this together! I love my wife!

Later Peyton got to come with Derek & Kelly & Sophie, and then again later with Jeff & Lisa. He was such a great big brother, so soft and nice, he even held him in his arms while I held Peyton's arms! He didn't even try to poke him! It has been such an amazing and exciting day! So for the first time this is not Terren posting, it is Stephen. Just a few days ago I got my bike out to ride/fix and Peyton sure was ready to get on it with me. So we have gone out riding the last couple of days and it is so cute because he sits on the cross bar and holds on to the handle bars with his feet up on the front tire fork. We had ridden pretty far like this and he sure does love it a lot!

4th of July and Air Force Museum

We got out the infant car seat to get ready for baby to come and Peyton loved playing in it. We put his monkey in it to show him how the baby will be in it and he loved helping buckle the "baby" up but then just sat on him!

We did a few small fireworks with Peyton. He burnt two of his fingers picking up a just burned out sparkler. Other than that, he enjoyed fireworks especially the ones that you throw and they pop or you can step on them.

We went to a Air Force museum to see the big airplanes - he wasn't as wowed by them as I thought he would be but he had a good time. This is him and his cousin, Lael, in a cockpit - they loved all the buttons!

Family Reunion (part 2)

This past weekend, all of my siblings were together with spouses and their kids. We had a great time, especially watching all the kids interact. Here's about half of them in the bathtub together!

Peyton got a terrible rash and he just wanted to lay with his blanket and pillow and watch tv and in this case, play with his aunt Leena's phone! It's amazing how these little 1 and 2 year olds know how to scroll through pictures and such on the phones these days!

We have had a stuggle finding big boy undies that fit skinny little Peyton - my sister had some for her boy that fit and she bought Peyton some - they are so cute!!

Here's a picture of my 2 brothers and their families and then my sister and I with our families - it's been a really long time since all of us have been together. There's been many times where most of us get together but we are always missing one or two people.

This one has my mom and Jeff in it with the 4 kids and 7 grandkids and 2 grandbabies on the way (Kelly and I).

4 year anniversary

June 30th was our 4 year Anniversary and for the most part it was pretty normal and we didn't have any plans since Stephen was working all day and then had class until 7:30pm. We usually don't do much to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries and such and we are fine with that. Stephen came home with 4 roses and a bunch of rose petals in which he had hidden tickets to go and see "Eclipse" which I had been wanting to go. And whats even better is that he had also arranged for a babysitter!! So after we put Peyton down for the night, we went to a late night movie and it was great to go on a date with him and see a movie I had really wanted to see and for him to suprise me. I felt a little bad because I didn't really do anything - I just made him a card thing that had a couple dozen reasons why I love him. Just thought I would let you all know what a great man I married! =)

PS - off the subject but I couldn't download the videos of Peyton's silly sounds so if you want to see them and have facebook - they are on there.

PPS - had our doctor appointment this afternoon and everything is still good - I am dilated to a "good 1" and effaced about 50% but he didn't give any guesses as to when the babe will be coming - he said he'd see us in 2 weeks so I guess he doesn't anticipate me going into labor for 2 weeks. All that matters is that the baby is healthy whenever he decides to come!

34 week picture

Here I am 34 weeks pregnant with baby boy #2. I am now almost 36 weeks - Peyton was born at 36 1/2 weeks so if this one was like Peyton, I would be having him in a week! But I doubt he will come that early although I wouldn't mind him coming a little bit early! My due date is July 31st and my doctor will induce a week before my due date. I haven't for sure decided if I will be induced but probably will - I am ready and I hate the unexpected waiting of when he is coming, plus I can arrange better for childcare for Peyton! So it's fun to say that this month I will have the baby!! For most of this pregnancy I haven't been too nervous or scared but now reality is setting in that it's really almost here and so I am feeling nervous and scared and wondering if I really can handle two but overall, still really excited and probably most excited to see how Peyton will respond to him; which I think he will do great!!

I have been feeling pretty good - this pregnancy has been more uncomforable and more pains than with Peyton but really not too much to complain about. My hips have been hurting for a good month or so now and I feel huge and uncomforable a lot of the times now and sleeping is not quite as enjoyable as it used to be! I can't wait to sleep on my tummy again and not have my hips and legs tingle and hurt from laying on my side! What I think I am the most upset about this pregnancy is that with Peyton, I didn't get any stretch marks but this one I have gotten a tons and they are ugly and itch like crazy and I even have gained less weight than I did with Peyton!! But I am bigger than I got with Peyton.

I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow, if there is anything exciting or new, I will post it. Also, Peyton makes some of the cutest noises and Wheels on the Bus motions and I hope to post tonight a video of him doing these things. They are so cute that I want to have record of them before he grows out of doing them and plus it's fun for you all to see and hear them!

Here's a very nonprofessional family shot - we still don't have a program to edit pictures so you get part of the tv that the camera was sitting on! Not the best picture but in many years, I am sure I will be glad we took it!

Peyton really enjoys "helping" me with the dishes although I don't enjoy it so much because he makes a mess and gets in my way but I guess better get him to like it now so when he really is big enough to do dishes, he'll like it maybe?!?!! Usually he puts the dishes in the water and plays in the water but I left for a minute and he grabbed the rag and was washing! He is cute even if sometimes in the way and annoying!!

We have a great tree by our apartment that provides a lot of shade and has a tire swing - there's a perfect sitting spot for Peyton in it (don't worry, Stephen is standing behind him holding his back).

The tire swing - Peyton doesn't so much like actually swinging on it but we were able to get him to pose for a picture. He likes pushing the swing.

Peyton is totally a boy - here's a great action shot of Peyton jumping off the bed. Yeah, I know, we shouldn't let him jump on the bed but we do sometimes. Really, is it that bad and plus, it's so fun for them and I remember it was fun for us when we were little too!!

We went to the zoo today and Peyton was probably the most excited about being able to run around! He didn't want to be in the stroller and he just ran instead of walked; we had to remind him many times to walk but it was fun! He never gets as excited about all the animals as I imagine in my mind. He really liked the birds, monkeys, train and toys =) Almost all stuff we can see here in Springville!

I am not quite sure why he has this face in a couple pictures but he really was having fun!

I don't know if I have put this picture on here but we go get ice cream for really cheap at this one grocery store and he gets to have his own little one.

This is definently not one of my favorite pictures but when I was pregnant with Peyton I wished I had taken more prego pictures - so here I am at 30 weeks. I have been wanting to take one but keep forgetting to take one when I was actually dressed and ready so we just did it even though my hair isn't done!

Peyton loves his daddy! He likes to sit on the couch with him and watch cartoons and eat or read a book. He doesn't like to sit with me that much which is sad but that's the way it is!

This picture we took before church because we just happen to all be in black and red but Peyton starting throwing a fit because he didn't want his picture taken so we only got this one and it's not the best and we will lighten it once we get a program to do it - so for now, this is it!

2 year check-up

Peyton had a 2 year check-up recently and it's always fun to go and see how he is growing - here are his numbers: weight 24.69 lbs 12.4 percentile
length 35.25 inches 74.23 percentile

So he is actually gaining some weight and is fairly tall. Other than that, the appointment wasn't too exciting but that's good!

He is still so active and such a busy-boy and wants to explore everything all the time! We finally weaned him off his binky and it wasn't so bad but since then he hasn't been going to sleep as easily, meaning he puts up a fight most times but I think it's more of a stage than related to the binky because he has been throwing pretty awful tantrums lately too! They are almost unbarable for me because I feel bad for him and me and don't quite know how to deal with them especially in public but I am trying different things and learning.

He is also starting to say 2 words together and its super cute for him to be talking more even though it's still very unclear! When he isn't being stubborn and throwing a fit, he is in such a cute stage and learning a lot! He loves to watch the trains come by and runs to the window to see them - he also loves loves loves playing with his cars/trains/trucks; being outside; playing in water; and being a boy jumping off the couch and running around!

2nd Birthday!!!

We got Peyton a basketball hoop for his birthday (which we gave to him early on Easter) - he loves it! He is getting pretty good too! This is a fun shot of him slamming it! = )

My mom and Jeff got Peyton this bath hoodie robe thing that I am sure he will love because he loves the other one he has and likes to run around in it - but this one is much cooler - it's a dragon from the new movie "How to train a dragon"!

He also got this car rug and didn't want to go to bed because he just wanted to keep playing with it! Thanks Mom and Jeff!

This isn't a birthday picture but o-well. We go get cheap ice cream cones at a store and Peyton gets his own little one which of course he loves!

I can't believe it has been 2 years since he was born - unbelievable!! He is so cute and fun and I love watching him learn new things and grow. He is a blessing and joy and I am so excited for him to be a big brother because I think he will be great at it!

They estimate he weighs almost a pound and is about 10 inches long! The technician said that he seemed to be sleeping during the ultrasound and the first while had his legs crossed so she couldn't tell what gender he was and I was so worried we wouldn't be able to find out and that would've killed me to wait!! But then he uncrossed them and wasn't shy =)

A little scary looking but this is our little guy! It was really wierd because she zoomed in and we could see his eyeball move (even though his eyes are closed). Technology is really amazing and it is so fun and neat to see him move and all the body parts and that they really are little people already!

We are very excited for Peyton to have a little brother to be (hopefully) best friends with! I still am feeling good and am now starting to feel the baby move quite a bit and love it! We are trying to teach Peyton that mommy has a baby in her tummy and it will come and live with us but I don't think he gets it yet but he does know where the baby is right now =)

It's been a while since I have posted so I decided to finally post some just random pictures that we have taken recently. Most of them are phone pictures so they aren't the greatest. This first one is Peyton eating spegetti - it's pretty much the one thing he will always eat (that and cereal).

My sister gave us some hand-me-downs and there were two suits with that we took and he finally sort of fits in them - isn't he so cute! The pants are still big and we have to roll them and they still kinda fall off but he is so cute I can hardley stand it!

Peyton was trying to run around the house with a blanket on his head and it kept falling off and he kept getting mad at it for falling so I got this baby towel thingy out and he loves wearing it and running around especially if one of us is chasing him!

I think he looks like the virgin mary in this picture - ha ha - Peyton was wearing this and pointed to our picture of Jesus that has a thing like this on his head. It's funny how much they know and recognize things!

Some cute smacking sounds he makes. And then he starts stirring his spegetti real fast. He is really into copying and so when we mix our food, he wants to do it too. He also likes to help mop/sweep and cook too. I think he is going to be a great helper and big brother!

Snowboarding ...

Stephen and I had been wanting to go snowboarding for a long time (basically since we first went together 4 years ago while dating)! Stephen has a co-worker who teaches lessons at a ski resort (Snowbird) and she was able to get us half price tickets so we finally went!! My mom and step-dad watched Peyton which was so nice because otherwise we probably wouldn't have been able to go!

We had a great time spending the day together and learning to snowboard (for me) and re-learn (for Stephen). It was a lot harder than I remember (and I was sore but not as sore as I thought I would be) but it was still fun and just good to have a day together without Peyton! It snowed all day and was foggy but still pretty.

This first picture is when we got back and had our stuff lying around and Peyton put on Stephen's snowboarding boots - he is such a cutie! We bought Peyton a training toliet and he wanted to just play with it today and sit on it and go potty but he doesn't know how to go potty so he didn't go but it was fun that he wants to try!

We find out in about a month what gender our baby is and we are pretty excited! I am now 16 weeks along and feeling great still!

Baby #2

For those who don't already know - we are expecting Baby #2 due July 31st! We are really excited (and I am also scared and nervous)! We are really really excited for Peyton to have a sibling and totally feel he is ready! We don't know what we are having and won't know for another couple months - we will keep you updated! I am 13 weeks along and have been feeling really good - very little sickness (almost none) but I have been pretty tired. I am really excited because I have a couple cousins due about a month and a half before me and I also have two friends here due about a couples of months after me! Lots of babies!

Christmas!

So, it has been way too long since I posted but I guess anytime is better than never. Some times I feel like since I put pictures up on Facebook, everyone already has seen the pictures but I know that isn't the case.

We had a great Christmas! We went to Washington state for 2 weeks! Peyton did well on the drives and pretty well overall - by the time the 2 weeks were over though, we were all ready to be back home! Stephen and I made a gingerbread house late one night and we did an amazing job! It was very fun!

Levi (my nephew) and I also made a gingerbread house but it wasn't nearly as nice-looking but it was still fun!

Peyton Christmas morning with new toys; all ready to start working with powertool and safety glasses! Peyton still wasn't really into Christmas - he didn't want to open any more presents after the first one because he liked that one too much!

He did really well this year and not playing with the tree or gifts - we didn't have to make any adjustments to the tree or hide the presents! Next year I am sure we will have to!

Instead of a traditional family Christmas dinner we did a Bethleham dinner with foods that would have been eaten during the time period that Christ was born. We had foods like chicken, pita-like bread, dates, pomegrantes, grapes, goat cheese, rice, zucchini, squash, peppers, and more stuff that I can't remember. It was actually pretty good (some of it I didn't care for) but the experience is really really cool!!! This picture is all of us in our costumes! What was really neat was that my step-brother that I hadn't seen in years came - it was so fun to see him!

He looked just too cute with his little Washington State University hat that I had to take a picture! Peyton's hair has gotten quite long and we styled it in a faux-hawk after a bath one night. I told him to smile and this is what he does!

Every night we go in and look at Peyton sleep because he is so so cute!! (And peaceful, quiet and still!) We took a picture one night to capture the moment - he happens to be holding his binky which was suprising that he fell asleep without it in!

This morning (Sunday) I went in to get Peyton and he was naked! He had unzipped his PJs but still had his feet in the footies. And he had taken his diaper off. I asked Stephen why he was naked because Stephen had gone in and changed his diaper a little bit earlier but then I realized that Peyton had taken his clothes and diaper off himself! It was pretty funny but I do hope that it doesn't become a hobby! I sure was glad that Stephen had changed Peyton's diaper earlier because it had been a dirty, messy one and so when he took it off, it was clean. But it had the potential to be a disaster situation!!

We got about 6 inches of snow today so we took Peyton out to play in it - it was around 20 degrees so we didn't stay out too long but Peyton loves loves loves the snow! We decided to put this coat on him that is a bit too big but is a good, thick coat. It makes him look a little like a marshmellow. In the grassy parts, the snow went up to his knees - it made it difficult for him to run in it. We are going to get a sled and take him sledding (on small hills). I don't know if he will like it but I am excited!

Peyton as you know, loves wearing our shoes around the house especially my heels (I think he just likes the sound of them on the tile). He sort of looks like a girl in this pictures because I took his pants off because they were his nice church ones. His sweater looks like a dress. But besides wearing my heels and carrying my purse around occasionally, he is through and through a typical, wild boy!!

Original Playgroup reunites!

When I first moved into our church ward, there was three of us who were new moms and stayed at home so we started a playgroup. Our babies (Peyton, Rorie, and Lily) weren't even rolling around yet - we started it more for us moms to chat and have something to do! One of the moms moved (we miss Meghan and Rorie tons!) but they came for a visit and we had a playgroup. Here the kiddies are playing on the piano - so big now - all walking and talking! Here we the moms are - Melissa, Meghan and Me - it was very fun to get together again!

18 months check-up

This is a little late but I just remembered that I hadn't put the information from his check-up on the blog.

Weight - 21 lbs 3.27 percentile
Length - 33.25 inches 78.06 percentile
Head circumference - 18.25 inches 14.36 percentile

Peyton is doing great all around. His language isn't real clear but he can say a lot and does very well at trying to say words even though they usually all sound alike but he thinks they don't. He really likes jumping, books, feeding himself especially using a fork, animals, cars/trucks, being chased (although we hardley do it because then he does it at stores), wiping things with a kleenex or wipe and he tries to pick spiders (or dirt) up with a kleenex just like mommy and daddy do! He thinks it is the funniest thing when there is a bug that moves - I can usually tell if there is a spider or fly or some other bug because he will be just laughing by himself! He also hits a lot and this is starting to become a problem and it worries me. We try time-outs and of course telling him why we don't hit but so far he isn't getting it so hopefully with consistency and time, he will stop doing it! I don't want him to be the mean kid!! Besides the hitting and not listening very well sometimes, we are doing great and really enjoy the joy Peyton is in our lives! It truly is amazing how quick they grow and learn!

First snow!

We've gotten snow yesterday and today so we decided to take Peyton out to see what he thought of it. He absolutely loved eating the snow!! Even after we came inside he kept trying to eat the snow off our shoes and his mittens! Last year at this time he was just 6 ro 7 months old and didn't like the snow so we didn't take him out to play in it but this year he didn't want to come inside! He loves being outside, even with snow!

We can't wait to get a sled and try a little bit of sledding! It's fun having kids because you get to do all the stuff with them that you did as a kid and it brings back so many good memories and the fun back into the snow and holidays!

Rexburg, Idaho

I had been wanting to go to Rexburg, Idaho since beginning of summer and we just never did so finally I begged Stephen to go this past weekend because it was the only weekend between Volleyball season and Basketball season that Stephen didn't have commitments (during sports season, he has to be at all the games each weekend). It was so much fun - I wished we would have taken more pictures though. We walked around BYU-Idaho and there are a lot of changes and it was fun to see. We both ran into people from home (it's such a small world!). We hung out with my cousin, Kourt and his wife Megan and little boy, Collin. We also hung out with my brother, Jared and his wife, Leena and their little boy, Cohen. We stayed at my old roommate's parents house and spent time with them also.

We had wanted to go to church with our old ward because we think there is still quite a few that we know there but Peyton got a nasty cold and we didn't go to church at all. We had such a fun time and made me miss it a lot - so many good times and memories. This is where Stephen and I dated and got to know each other and planned our wedding and lived our first 1 1/2 of marriage and both graduated from - big events in our lives!

Thanks to the Monks for letting us stay with them and feeding us!! We love you guys and feel like part of your family! Thanks Kourt and Megan for babysitting Peyton so we could go to a football game and also for letting us invite ourselves to hang out all day and then bring Jared and Leena over to hang out too! You guys are awesome and we loved spending time with you all! Thanks Jared and Leena for making time to spend with us - we love you guys so much!!

So this was the only good picture we could get of Peyton in his costume! He was a zebra and was the cutest thing! Of course every mom says that about their kid! (but he was) He even kept his hood/face thingy on the entire time and it was so cute when he ran because his little tail wiggled and he looked like a zebra! Our town had the businesses on main street hand out candy during the day so we took him to do that. There was a ton of people so it was at times really slow going but overall a good experience. Peyton is a little young to really understand what is going on - he just wants to get in his bucket and eat the candy! He did better trick-or-treating at houses later in the evening - he said trick-or-treat and thank you more. It was a lot of fun and I told Stephen that having a kid brings back a lot of the fun in holidays that sometimes gets lost. Stephen and I sort of dressed up with stuff we had around already - Stephen was a snowboarder and I was a baseball catcher. Next year I want to plan an actual costume and dress up - I think it would be fun. Today was a very fun and busy day (we played volleyball in the morning and spent time with my mom, step-dad, my grandparents, and my brother and family! It was great to spend the whole day with Stephen and I know Peyton loved it too!!

Peyton got some of my high heels and LOVED wearing them! He really liked the sound they made on the tile! I think he liked them so much because they were some of the only shoes of ours that actually sort of stayed on because his little feet get wedged into the toe holes at the end!

He fell on the sidewalk and got a fat lip but by the next morning it was gone pretty much! It is amazing how quickly they heal (and how much they bleed)!

While in WA, Peyton and I went to a pumpkin patch and hay maze with my sister, Janae, and her 3 kids and my step-mom, Debbie! It was fun and the kids had an even better time!

Washington trip

Peyton and Terren drove up to WA with my mom for the funeral and then we were going to fly back so I decided to stay for a while since I could! I spent a week with my sister and her family and then a week with my dad and Debbie. I can't believe how quick it went by - most of us got sick at Janae's and my dad got sick while we were there but suprisingly Peyton didn't get sick! I thought this was a cool "action" shot of Peyton kicking the ball!

Peyton did well the whole trip and I was nervous about flying with Peyton alone now that he is mobile but he did fantastic!

He is climbing up on everything and it's quite annoying! He is really fast and thinks it is fun to run away from me when I need him to come to me - that is also quite annoying and scary also!! He loves to "help" me clean and do laundry. He still loves balls, cars, trucks, pushing things around, and animals. He will be 18 months in a week.

Grandpa Ronald Delano Iverson

My Grandpa on my dad's side passed away Sept. 19th and I went up to his funeral which was on Sept. 25th. They lived in Royal City, WA Here is my grandpa and grandma - he was such a loving and hard-working man. My grandma is a strong, compassionate woman. I look up to them both and love them much and regret not spending more time with them as an adult and getting to know them better!

This is my grandpa's siloutte - he was a farmer and after he got cancer and couldn't farm, he took up woodworking and one of my favorite gifts ever was a cat clock he made for me one Christmas!

My last time seeing and what I remember him looking like was in July at the Iverson family reunion at their place in Royal City - so many great memories long ago and just recently!

I love you forever Grandpa and your legacy will live on and you will be remember as nothing less than a great man who loved his family! I am glad you are freed from your physical pains and suffering and I will see you again someday!

Peyton is learning lots and lots (he is 16 1/2 months) - his vocabulary continues to grow and to most you probably can't understand what he is saying but to his parents, we know! It is so fun to watch him grow and learn - a few examples of his words: (there are way more but can't think of them now)

ish = fish
no = nose
uck = duck
He is obsessed with balls, books, and trucks/cars. Suprisingly he has not learned the word 'no'! He can fold his arms and kneels at night for prayers and it is the cutest thing in the world (although it only lasts about 3 seconds)! He understands so much more than we give him credit for and it amazes us all the time - our little baby boy is growing up! Here's a few pictures from the past month or so ...

Football has started and we have been watching a lot of football this Labor Day weekend and here is Peyton and daddy bonding watching football!

Peyton loves basketballs! We take him to Stephen's school gym and get out like 6 balls and Peyton just goes from one to another. He works so hard to try to dribble the basketball just like mommy and daddy - and he is getting pretty good! I had no idea how smart little kids are and how quick they learn!

Peytons 15 1/2 month check-up

Peyton had his 15 month check-up August 4th and here are his stats:
19.4 lbs - 1.5 percentile
31.5 inches long - 64 percentile
So he still doesn't weigh much but doctor says he looks healthy and was impressed with how much muscle definition he had (how buff Peyton is) and he kept making comments about it!! He did well at the appointment and is doing good!
Just a picture of Peyton sleeping after hiking and below is Peyton wearing a shoe and walking around with it! He is a funny kid and we enjoy him so much! He is independent and just wants to do everything we are doing and by himself. He loves to get the mop or broom or dustbuster and "help" clean! He is starting to want to feed himself and that is messy sometimes. Can't believe he has been walking for over 6 months and am so excited he only has 2 more months until he can go into the nursery at church! We just love him so much and am so grateful to have him in our lives!

Peyton is trying to jump and does this jumpy sitting thingy. The beginning of the video is kind of sloppy but it isn't too long. He loves being up on the bed (and couch) - I think it is because it is somewhere big people are and so it makes him feel like a big person!

Our day trip to Vernal

We took a day trip to Vernal and visited the Dinosaur museum and then hiked 3 miles down to a lake where there were supposedly dinosaur fossil footprints. Stephen is in the hole in the middle of the picture - this is the terrain that we hiked in - it was a lot of fun!

We stopped and ate apples and Peyton had the funniest look on his face - we call it his bulldog face! These are fossil sand dunes - they look real but they are really petrified!

We have some freezer dried blueberries that Peyton really likes but they make such a mess!!Peyton is just so much fun! He is learning to do lots of things and is so cute! He says about 5 or 6 words but understands much more; he can fold his arms, wave, and play peek-a-boo; he knows where his eyes, nose, ears, and mouth (sort of) are; he is starting to give kisses (even with his mouth closed!); he is starting to climb onto everything; and he is getting so big - his 15 month appointment is in a week or two and I am anxious to see how tall he is!

Summer trip to Willard Bay

We took a day trip to Willard Bay - at our library we can check out a pass to go to state parks so we went here with it. It was really funny because we were all in the water and Peyton just all by himself walked up to the towels and just sat down - it was so cute! Our family picture in the bay!

Trip to WaShInGtOn

We took a trip to Washington to visit family and to go to a family reunion for my (Terren) side of the family! We drove there and back which is about 11 hours and Peyton did amazing in the car!! The day we left we left at 3 am thinking Peyton would sleep a lot but no, he slept about 2 1/2 hours! But still did great and he didn't even get out of the car to walk around the entire trip! The way back we left around noon and so we drove quite a bit into the night and Peyton sleep the last 4 or 6 hours (I can't remember which). I love how his leg is up on the Mr. Monkey Man!

We took a 4 day trip to Las Vegas. It was our first vacation just our little family and it was very very fun. We did about everything you can do for free in Vegas and did some other things that we really wanted to do. We both served our missions in Vegas so we got a chance to visit with some people from our missions and drive around our old areas. Peyton didn't sleep that great but considering he wasn't on his sleep schedule and spent a lot of time in the stroller, he did great! We were so busy, we didn't even have time to swim in the pool! But we had a great time! PS - this post is super long because of all the pictures! But we hope you enjoy! This is a picture of the strip from the top of the Stratosphere where we stayed.

Peyton had a fun time crawling in Grandma and Grandpa Iverson's suitcase when we visited them in Snowbird!

For Christmas we got a monkey "backpack" that is really a leash to keep Peyton on. We have only tried it once and he would get frustrated that he couldn't go where he wanted and either fall or sit down but he loves to wear it around the house!! We took Peyton on the Carousel (spelling?) at the local community days - he looks like he is having a good time but in reality he didn't really care about it! But it was still fun to take him on his first ride!

We got up real early to go watch the hot air balloons take off. I wasn't really sure if it would be worth it but it totally was!! We watched them set up the balloons and then take off and I really thought it was neat!! There was about 8-10 total.

Summer begins!

Stephen was done with school a week ago and I am so stoked to have him around all summer although I am sure we will get bored (and we already have) but still I am excited for him to be around! I am sure Peyton is too!

We spent most of this last week in Snowbird, Ut (a ski resort) with my dad and Debbie and brothers. This is the only picture we have from it (Jared has some others but I haven't got them yet from him) - Stephen had put a ball down his shirt because it's funny to watch Peyton try to get it out so then I put another one in and now Peyton looks like a female!

We are planning some day trips to various state parks around Utah because we can rent park passes at the public library so it's free to get in. We are also going to Vegas in a little over a week and we are very excited about that since it will be our first time back since our missions! We are also going to Washington for a week for a Iverson Family reunion! I am extremely excited for summer and for Peyton (as well as me) to be able to spend more time with his daddy!

PS - Peyton is now doing well in the daycare at the gym and it is such a relief to not have to hurry through a workout hoping to get it all in before having to leave because Peyton won't calm down!

Haircut and soccer!

We gave Peyton a haircut with the buzzers(clippers) which I normal give him a haircut with scissors. It is a lot shorter than normal and I don't like it as much but he is still cute!! And it will grow out which is good since I messed up in the back and buzzed it up way high on accident so it looks funny!

Here is Peyton kicking a tuperware around the kitchen - he has been kicking things around a lot lately. Maybe he will be a soccer player!

Peyton fell asleep in his high chair which is a first! He never sleeps anywhere but his car seat and crib. It wasn't even like I had left him for a long time in there, I had turned for a minute or two and I turn back around and he was out!

Trip to WA

Peyton and I went up to Washington for about a week and half with my mom. We drove up and I was pretty worried about how he would do but he did great!! He only slept a few hours so not as much as I thought or would have liked but none-the-less he did so well and we didn't even have to stop more than normal to give him breaks!

We had a fun time in Washington visiting family and he loves playing with his cousins! He got the sickest he has ever been up there and was just getting over it as we were coming back so I thought the drive back would be awful but once again he suprised me and did great again!
One great benefit of being a stay-at-home mom is being able to just drop everything and go visit family and I love being able to do that!

I forgot to post Peyton's 12 month check-up. He is 29.5 inches long which puts him in the 42nd percentile and he weighs almost 18.5 lbs which puts him in only the 2nd percentile. The doctor isn't worried about his weight because he has always been small and doesn't look unhealthy so that's good!

We have tried switching Peyton to whole milk and he doesn't like it so if we mix it with some formula he will drink it but it is a challenge getting him to drink anything at all and to eat very much - I don't get it, he used to be such a good eater and now he is not so much but I guess it's pretty normal!

Another change he has had is that I joined a gym with a daycare and so we have been trying to get him used to it. He does not like me leaving him and usually cries and doesn't calm down so they have to come and get me after 20-30 minutes so I am really hoping that he will adjust SOON! If anyone has tips - please let me know!!!

Peyton at first used his hands but then just would try to eat the cake without his hands - it was pretty funny! He didn't really eat that much and didn't get a sugar high or sick! Peyton loved the balloons and I have decided that I just need to buy balloons to blow up and that will be better than toys!

We had a fun time and loved having family here and had a great time decorating for his party! I get easily stressed out and worry about everything and Stephen did a fantastic job helping with everything and putting up with me - thanks hunny!

Peyton's FIRST birthday!!

We had a little family party for Peyton's birthday and it was fun. We had to wake Peyton up from his nap and so he was very cranky but eventually got happy and was walking all over the place and playing with the balloons and a ball.

We had made a little cake for him to play in and eat; we made a '1' cake with funfetti cake (Stephen's favorite) and a carrot cake (Terren's favorite)

Peyton didn't make as big of a mess as I thought he would - he was pretty calm and later we gave him some banannas on his tray with his cake still there and he preferred the banannas over the cake! He does love fruit!

Peyton got lots of fun toys and books - Peyton and Sophie had fun playing with this box with all sorts of locks and doors on it

We made this little timeline/clock of Peyton's first year - it starts at the top and goes around like a clock with a picture for each number of month he is in age up until 12 months at the top again. It was pretty fun to see his growth - I realized he went through a little bit of an ugly stage at around 4-6 months when he lost his baby hair and was growing new hair but looked bald.

Peyton has really taken a liking to our shoes - he actually has always liked shoes but the last couple days he just sits and plays with all of the shoes that are by the door and the ones he can pull out of the door hangy thing. He will play for 30-45 minutes - he just throws them around!

So I started a blanket/quilt well over a year ago, before Peyton was born, and I finally finished about a week or so ago (well, I actually have to do the mouth still)! Peyton really liked playing on it - he kept running across it and feeling it - he is a cute kid!

Peyton is officially walking! He hardly ever crawls now! And yeah, he is getting into everything but I love that he is walking - it is so adorable and funny!! He just enjoys walking around the apartment - he hardly plays with his toys because he just wants to walk. I think church is going to get much more difficult because he doesn't want to stay put - just wants to explore!

Peyton is walking tons now! He now is preferring to walk instead of crawling and he has learned to stand up by himself! It is the cutest thing to watch him walk and even run sometimes!! In this video Peyton is walking around in Stephen's classroom - he loves going there because there is so much room to walk around and play. It isn't a very good video because it was taken on my phone but you can get the idea.

Peyton and I are in a playgroup and the regulars are all turning one within a few months of each other - this is the first birthday party. All the other kids there are girls - you can't really tell but this hat is pink. He suprisingly kept this on.

Peyton is doing great! He is such a funny little guy and so fun to watch and play with!! He hates having a hat or something on his head but he will wear these little sunglasses - it is so cute!

He loves the bathroom and getting into everything - I am not quite sure why he is in the sink here ...

I have a terrible memory so I thought that I would try to write down some things that Peyton likes so that when he is older I can tell him what he loved doing as a little guy and I won't remember unless I write it down (I am also putting it in my journal so I have a "hard copy")

He loves :

- To spin the toilet paper on the holder
- Pulling clothes off or out of things
- Books

- To eat any food (he's like a dog always begging - maybe we are teaching him bad manners)

- To ride on the back of daddy (and mommy)

- To be chased

- Animals especially dogs

- Baths (he goes to the edge of the tub and pounds on it trying to get to the knob and faucet)

- Throwing and bouncing balls

- Wheels (on strollers, toy cars, chairs, anything)

- Climbing up stairs

We went to the park on Saturday and it was one of Peyton's first time - I think it was more fun for me to take him than it was for him but he liked it fine just not as much as I thought he would. Here are some pictures from the park!

Peyton enjoys trying to eat his shoes - he finds then very interesting

Peyton LOVES our basketballs!! I think he will play sports - he loves to throw his toys, tries to dribble the basketballs, and he loves going to sports games

Peyton still is a great eater - if you look closely you can see some ham on his cheek!

I (Stephen helped out a lot) made a bumper for Peyton crib and it turned out really good! I also saved a few bucks!

We are all doing great! Stephen was pretty busy with his high school's basketball teams but now that is over - we went and watched the teams play in their state tournaments and that meant we spent all day Saturday (literally there 12 hours) watching basketball but it was fun. Peyton is still taking steps pretty frequently. We are trying to teach him some sign language, how to wave, say a few words and know where the Jesus picture is. Pretty much nothing is really happening in those areas but it is fun to try! Peyton is so cute and so much fun - the pictures just can't capture it!

My sister came and visited with her three kids - Peyton loves being around other kids especially older ones - he loves watching them and you can just tell he wants to keep up with them!

Look how blue his eyes are!!

We finally got a crib for Peyton - we don't have the matress yet but wanted to get it set up - we bought it used for a great price and seems like it will work great!

Peyton loves pushing the wood tractor his great grandpa Iverson made for him as well at the football!

Oh yeah, he took a couple steps a couple weeks ago but hasn't since then - we have it recorded but I need to get it from my brother so I can post it =)

These are all Peyton at 9 months. He is crawling really great and climbing up on everything but is still totally a momma's boy and cries when I leave the room! He has two teeth and is getting the 'mamama' sound down . Peyton had his 9 month check up a week ago and he is doing great! He is only in the 4th percentile for weight but he has always been small - he is just so cute and so much fun!!

Peyton has started crawling - it is pretty cute! It is truly amazing how fast he picks up things and develops! I think he might actually be teething although I have been thinking that for like 4 or 5 months =) He hasn't been sleeping well at all the last few nights. I think part of it is that he wakes up and then wants to play and crawl around - I have gone in there a few times and he is sitting up crying with his eyes closed. He is so cute though!! It is hard not to laugh even though it's the 4th time I've been up!Peyton loves going to sporting games - we go often to watch Stephen's school teams. He gets all excited when everyone cheers and he is starting to pick up on clapping.
